Adventure Off Leash Hikes
Thriving dogs need more than just physical exercise—they require mental stimulation and emotional enrichment to live calm, fulfilled lives. That’s why our 2-hour off-leash hike is designed to engage your dog’s natural curiosity as they explore, sniff, and play in a safe, structured environment. Your pup will spend the morning with me practicing recall, trail manners, and appropriate socialization while adventuring through the foothills of the Sierra Nevada Mountains.
While every precaution is taken to ensure your dog’s safety, outdoor adventures carry inherent risks, including potential encounters with wildlife, other off-leash dogs, and people. It is highly recommended that owners have their dogs complete rattlesnake avoidance training. Weather and seasons do affect start times for this service.

Pack Hikes are designed for social, well-mannered dogs who enjoy making new friends while practicing calm, respectful behavior in a group setting. These hikes provide structured adventure, enrichment, and real-world training—all in a safe, thoughtfully managed pack environment.
🐕 Pack Hike Assessments
Pack hike assessments are held once per month and are required prior to joining a pack. The assessment process includes:
A structured pack walk with your dog
An off-leash behavior assessment
All assessments are completed at San Rafael Off-Leash Park
Once assessments are complete, dogs are carefully matched with compatible pack members based on temperament, play style, and training level. Pack hikes are then scheduled with a maximum of three (3) dogs per group to ensure safety, attention, and quality handling.
🌄 During Pack Hike Outings
Start times vary based on weather and seasonal conditions
Dogs are dropped off with me and begin with a pack walk, reinforcing basic obedience and calm group movement
We then travel to our hiking location
Throughout the outing, dogs work on:
Impulse control
Waiting calmly at thresholds (vehicles, gates, trailheads)
Not rushing up to strangers or unfamiliar dogs
Reliable recall in real-world environments
Each pack hike includes:
2–3 hours of hiking
30 minutes of leashed and off-leash obedience work
Approximately 40 minutes of total drive time
All dogs must have up-to-date vaccinations: Rabies, Bordetella, Canine Influenza, Distemper, and Parvo. Puppies must be at least 1 year old and have completed their puppy vaccination series before attending.
Dogs that are not spayed or neutered and 16 months or older will not be permitted on group hikes.

Fur Family Hikes are for households with more than one dog that are social, well-mannered dogs who want to get outside and have an adventure. These hikes provide structured adventure, enrichment, and real-world training—all in a safe, thoughtfully managed pack environment.
🐕 Fur Family Hike Assessments
They are held at your convenience and are required. The assessment process includes:
A structured pack walk with your dog
An off-leash behavior assessment
All assessments are completed at San Rafael Off-Leash Park
Once assessments are complete, dogs will receive a pass or fail, but do not be alarmed, failing could mean we have work to do in which case they will have a modified adventure on a longline and work on these skills. Pack hikes are then scheduled with a maximum of three (3) dogs per group to ensure safety, attention, and quality handling.

This service is perfect for dogs that may have failed their hike assessment, are nervous or fearful of other dogs or even strangers, but still want to get out and explore!
Owners can choose to drop off and pick up at my home or I can pick up and drop off. Every outing will begin with a loose-leashed walk to build basic obedience rapport and calmness. Then we will load up for our hike.
Treats and water will be provided during the hike, and you will receive videos and or photos of your pup's adventure at the end of each hike.
